Start With What You Noticed at Home
Say you flip on the kitchen light at night and a thin line of ants is marching across the counter. Or you hear light scratching inside the wall above the stairs. Or you find a small pile of tiny wings on a basement windowsill. Each one is a small sign, and each one deserves a plain answer.
Tissuecoach Pest Control is a referral service for homeowners in New Brunswick, NJ and the New Brunswick area. We do not spray, trap or remove anything ourselves. We connect you with independent pest control and wildlife removal providers in our network. A provider visits, looks closely, explains what they find and puts a quote in writing.
Searching for an exterminator near me can feel like a coin toss. Dozens of names pop up and they all sound alike. This site tries to make the first step simpler. You describe the problem, and a local provider follows up.

Not sure what you are looking at? That is normal. Ants, spiders, roaches, crickets, mice, rats and termites can all look like 'just a bug' until you know the signs. Keep reading to see what you can safely do yourself and when it makes sense to bring in a pro.
How It Works
A referral, not a repair crew
Tissuecoach Pest Control sits between you and the people who do the work. Think of it like a neighbor who knows a few reliable names, only more organized. You send a request. A provider in our network reads it and reaches out. The provider, not Tissuecoach Pest Control, visits your home, does the work and sets the price.
Because providers are independent, each one has its own schedule, methods and pricing. Availability varies. Many providers can respond quickly, but no one can promise a set time.
Three steps, start to finish
Say you find droppings in the pantry. Here is how it usually goes.
- You request an estimate and describe what you saw.
- A local provider contacts you, asks a few questions and sets a visit.
- At the visit, the provider inspects, explains the plan and gives you the quote in writing.
Then you decide. There is no obligation to hire anyone.
Where you can help, and where you cannot
Some jobs are fine for a careful homeowner. Wiping counters, sealing food in tight containers, replacing a worn door sweep and trimming branches away from the roof all help. A few sticky traps can show where ants or spiders are traveling.
Other jobs need tools and training. Termites hide inside wood and soil. Rats can chew wiring. Squirrels, bats and raccoons are wild animals that may be protected by local rules, and a bite or scratch is a health risk. Bed bug treatment is another one that rarely works as a DIY project, because the bugs tuck into tiny cracks and can spread when handled the wrong way.
Why use a go-between at all
Because a good match saves time. You skip the guesswork and talk with a provider who handles your kind of problem.
Homes and Weather We See
Providers in our network serve New Brunswick and the New Brunswick area. The pests here are shaped by the weather and by the houses.
Picture the first hard cold snap of the year. Mice and rats feel it too. They look for a warm, dry spot, and an older home with a full basement offers plenty. Stone and block foundations often have small gaps where old mortar has worn away. A mouse needs a hole only about the size of a pencil.
Now picture the spring snowmelt. Water collects along the foundation, the soil stays damp and wood near the ground stays wet. Termites like that. So do carpenter ants. A damp sill plate in the basement is worth a look every spring.
Coastal storms add another twist. Heavy rain and wind can push insects and rodents indoors, and fallen branches can open gaps near the eaves. Squirrels and raccoons find those gaps fast.
Cape Cod style homes have tight attics and knee walls where wildlife can nest quietly. Multi-family buildings bring a different problem. Roaches and bed bugs can travel through shared walls and pipes, so treatment often works better when neighbors and the landlord are involved.
Whatever your house looks like, a local provider knows these patterns.

Hire a Provider With Confidence
Questions worth asking
Say a provider arrives and you want to feel sure. Ask a few plain questions. What pest is it? How do you know? What will you do, and what products will you use? A good provider gives specific answers.
What a good answer sounds like
'I found mud tubes along the basement wall, so I suspect termites. Here is the plan, the products and what to expect.' That ties the plan to evidence. Vague talk like 'don't worry, it's all handled' is a cue to ask more.
Red flags to watch for
- Pressure to sign on the spot.
- A firm price given before anyone looks.
- No written quote or scope of work.
- No clear answer about licensing in your state.
- Wildlife jobs that mention trapping but never mention sealing entry points.
Licensing and coverage
Rules differ by state. Ask the provider which license applies to the work and whether they carry liability coverage. Tissuecoach Pest Control cannot check these for you, so ask the provider directly and keep the answer in writing.
What it may cost
Typical U.S. ranges vary a lot by job. A one-time visit for common household pests often runs from about $100 to $300. Ongoing plans are usually billed by the quarter. Termite treatment commonly lands between several hundred and a few thousand dollars, depending on home size. Wildlife removal can range from a couple of hundred dollars to over a thousand when repairs are added. Always get a written quote.
Getting your home ready
Clear clutter from along walls, put food in sealed containers and note where you saw activity. Photos help. Ask the provider what else to do before the visit.
Damage and insurance
Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim. Pest problems that build slowly are often treated differently.
If the problem returns
Ask what happens if pests come back and get the follow-up terms in writing before work begins.
